More detail on this person: Col. Thomas Evan Beauchamp, 74, Palm Coast, passed away on September 25, 2009. The family will be receiving visitors from 6-8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home with the funeral service being held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at The First Baptist Church of Palm Coast being presided over by Pastor Mark Pierson of Grace Presbyterian Church. In the words of his loving wife Bobbe, "He was the love of my life for 56 years and he always will be. He was my best friend, a wonderful husband, father and friend to all who knew him." His greatest love was his wife, Bobbe. He loved his family and he loved flying. Born in Castlewood, Virginia on October 30, 1934 to Irving Alonzo and Sarah Thomas Beauchamp. He went on to an illustrious career in the U.S. Army rising to the rank of full Colonel as an aviator piloting helicopters. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart and decorations and awards too numerous to mention. As a career Army officer, he achieved his dream of being a pilot having served two tours in Vietnam. While still active in the Army Reserve he went on to serve for 20 years in a civilian capacity as Commanding Operations Officer for the 123rd ARCOM. He was educated at Castlewood High School, University of Nebraska-Omaha and Webster University. He is survived by daughters, Amanda Kae Beauchamp Sauls (David) and Annette Beauchamp Gaunce (Mike); and son, Evan Alonzo Beauchamp (Haley); grandchildren, Jordan, Morgan, Adam, Stone and Cooper; siblings, Beech Beauchamp (deceased) and Carolyn Capelli (Steve). The family will accept flowers or request that donations be made to The Best Friends Animal Society. Condolences may be shared via the family guestbook at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com.
