More detail on this person: Donald Paul Bartholomay of Lake Wales died Thursday, April 3, 2008, at the Lake Wales Medical Center. He was 76.

Born March 28, 1932, in Boston, Mass., he came here from Franklin, N.C., four years ago. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, served two tours in Vietnam and the Cuban Missile Crisis, serving in the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. He graduated from Emmy Riddle University and the University of Maine. He was also a member of the Distinguished Flying Cross Society.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Sandra L. Bartholomay of Lake Wales; two daughters, Linda Jeanne Kolodzik of North Carolina and Tracey Ables of Eagle Lake; three sons, Kenneth P. Bartholomay of Lake Wales, Jeffery David Bartholomay of New Hampshire, and Ethan Jeffrey Levesque of Eustis, Fla.; a brother, Francis Ernest Bartholomay of Lake Wales; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 9, at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with military honors.
