More detail on this person: Donald H. Bode, 77, of Brainerd, MN died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

He was born on May 23, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Wichard Henry Bode and Mary Werner Bode. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 22 years and retired as a Major. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and DAV. He was also a Mason in the Aurora Masonic Lodge in Brainerd, MN. He was owner of Brainerd Sew and Vac.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Rhon.

Donald is survived by his wife, Marie L. Bode; son, Donald C. Bode and his wife, Michelle of Greensboro; daughters, Janet Lynn Bright and her husband, Richard of Winston-Salem, Susan Bode Carawon and husband, Butch of New Bern and Danielle Suzanne Bode of Bloomington, MN; brother, Wichard H. Bode of Monticello, MN; grandchildren: Ryan Elizabeth Ward, Michelle Lynn Norville, Martha Kate Bright, Victoria Leigh Bode and Brennan Renae Bode and great grandchildren, Benjamin Mark, James Richard and Daniel Arthur Ward.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service
