More detail on this person: Robert Paul Burge, 81, of Blackwater, Mo. passed away Saturday June 4th at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove, Mo.

Born Jan. 12, 1935 in Boonville, Mo., he was the son of the late Edith and Paul C. Burge. He was a graduate of Boonville High School ,Kemper Military College and the University of Missouri, Columbia with a degree in Agriculture.

He also served in the Vietnam War as a Major in the U.S. Army who flew as a reconnaissance helicopter pilot from 1957-68.

On Dec 31, 1967 he married to the late Sally (Savickas) Burge. After his service in the military he went on to become a farmer and then worked for the Dept. of Corrections for 19 years before retiring in 2003.

Survivors include a son, Stephen Schleser of Aurora, Col.; two daughters, Andrea Schleser of Arvada, Col. and Rebecca Sower of Windsor, Conn.; and three grandchildren, Gage and Aspen Schleser and Joshua Sower.

No service will be held at this time but the family will plan a life celebration at a later date.
