More detail on this person: DODGE CITY - Robert I. Bridle, 72, died Friday October, 24, 2008, at his home in Dodge City. He was born Feb. 16, 1936.

On September 7, 1978, he married Van C. Le. She survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Michael Robert, Shawn Lee, Robert Michael; four daughters, Heather J. Pierce, Laura Cam Le Murphy, Tonya Cam Le Nguyen, Kimberly M. Arambula; one brother, Jim; one sister, Marion Holland; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 29, at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Burkhart-Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. The family suggests memorials to the Robert Bridle Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.

Robert I. Bridle, 72, died Friday October, 24, 2008 at his home in Dodge City.

He was born February 16, 1936 at Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, the son of Gordon T. and Marjorie D. Hess Bridle. A Dodge City resident since 1985, moving from Pennsylvania, he was a Major in the United States Army before retiring in 1971.

He was a life member of the VFW Post 1714, American Legion, and the GI Forum.

He was a helicopter pilot with the US Army during the Vietnam conflict, obtaining the rank of Major.
