More detail on this person: Albert Badia, a resident of Enterprise, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 77.

A funeral mass will be 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, from the St. John Catholic Church with Father Jim Dane officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery (Headland). The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the funeral home with a rosary being said at 7 p.m.

Mr. Badia was born in Italy on April 6, 1928. He enlisted in the U.S. Army June 11, 1947, and served for 34 years including four tours in Vietnam, as well as during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude I. Badia; one son, Peter A. Badia (Donya) of Tallahassee, Fla.; two daughters, Patricia A. Thorpe (Dennis) and Barbara A. Preston (Thomas), both of Enterprise; one sister, Eila Badia (Vince) of Ohio; five grandchildren, Carrie, Christopher, Michelle, Joseph, and Peter; three great-grandchildren, Codie, Caitlyn, and Wyatt; and several nieces.
