More detail on this person: Branstuder, Phillip V., a resident and native of Baton Rouge, he died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Lane Memorial Hospital in Zachary. He was 68. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, and after 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, until funeral service at noon, conducted by the Rev. James Townsend. A military graveside service will be held at Port Hudson National Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Jane E. Branstuder; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Shawn Krause, Zachary; two sons, Charles Clower, Angola, and Damon D. Branstuder, Baton Rouge; sister, Jean Smith, Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Christine Clower, Thomas Clower, Shawnel Krause and Colton Krause; and his best friend, Buddy, his dog. He retired as a major from the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean conflict and Vietnam War. He was also a retired corrections captain from Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
