More detail on this person: COLUMBUS, GEORGIA- MAJ (Ret.) Allen Ray Brinkman, 71, passed away on October 4, 2012. Services will be private. MAJ Brinkman was born on June 11, 1941 to the late Clarence and Hazel Brinkman in Eunice, LA. He served proudly in the United States Army as a Helicopter Pilot during the Vietnam Conflict, having received numerous medals, most importantly the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star Medal and the Air Medal with "V" Device and 1 OLC. He retired after 21 years of service. Upon retirement from the Army, he became a teacher at Carver High School's JROTC program, where he taught for 23 years.

Survivors include his wife, June Brinkman of Columbus, GA; a son and daughter-in-law, Allen, II and Julie Brinkman of Tampa, FL; a daughter and son-in-law, Stefanie and Jason Litz of Columbus, GA; seven grandchildren, Lawton, Jake, Hudson and Walker Brinkman and Shannon, Mary and Lucy Litz; two brothers, Gary Brinkman and Robert Brinkman; a sister, Paula Fortner; and several nieces and nephews.
