Bossier City, LA: - Visitation for Donald Keith Beauvais, who passed away on Monday afternoon, January 16, 2012, will be at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Marshall Street from 4:00pm to 6:30pm on Thursday, January 19, 2012. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Donnie was born on September 11, 1947 and grew up in Bossier City. He graduated from Bossier High School and Northwestern State University. In 1969 Donnie joined the Air Force, obtaining the rank of Captain. He served his country as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. While serving in Homestead, FL., he received a Meritorious Service Commendation for his service in search and rescue missions. He served in the Air Force until 1976. Donnie then returned to the Shreveport-Bossier area, and for the last 20 years he was a Charted Life Underwriter in the financial services business. He was also a Mason.

Donnie was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Gulledge Beauvais, his parents Doris and Ernest Beauvais, his brother Ernest Beauvais and niece Kay Walther-Jones. Donnie is survived by his sister, Lynda Beauvais-Jones; brother, Kenny Beauvais and his wife Nancy; sister-in-law, Rhonda Beauvais; nephew, Parry Jones; niece, Elizabeth Beauvais and her husband, Steven Abney; nephew, Addison Beauvais; niece, Mary Claire Porter and her husband, John; niece, Stephanie Beauvais; nephew, Patrick Beauvais; great nephew, Christian Walther; and cousins, Lory "Frenchie" and Gertrude Deaville. He is survived by his dear companion Rhonda Sutton, as well as close friend Celia Sawyer, and former wife Penny Durham, along with countless other friends who loved him. His very special Pomeranian "Wolf" will miss him terribly.

Donnie was a brilliant creator, not only inventing designs to increase speed and efficiency, but also engineering scores of hijinks and good times, bringing laughter and fun to all those who knew him.
