More detail on this person: Col. Richard F. Burdett, USAF retired, 73, died Oct. 27, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospital.

He was born Sept. 5, 1932, in Ness County, the son of Fred Taylor and Alice Pember Burdett. He graduated from Kansas State University. A resident of Hutchinson for 25 years, he was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Colonel.

On Feb. 21, 1959, he married Judy A. Kramer, of San Mateo, Calif., in Reno, Nev. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Richard D. and Fred D.; two daughters, Desiree A. Shelite and Patricia L. Henderson; two sisters, Myra Stout and Patricia Gabel; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six nephews; and nine nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Alice Burdett; a brother, James I. Burdett; a granddaughter, Kelly L. Henderson; a niece, Kimberly Huxman; and a nephew, Kerby J. Thomas. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, Hutchinson. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery.
