More detail on this person: John E. Bell, 72,
passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2000. He retired
from the U.S. Army in 1980 after 30 years of
service, having attained the rank of Colonel.
Survivors include his wife, Molly S. Bell;
daughter, Margie B. Elmore of Newport News; son,
John E. Bell Jr., and his wife, Luanne L., of Mt.
Pleasant, S.C.; three grandchildren, Kelly L.
Force, Robin L. Bell and John Scott Bell;
great-granddaughter, Molly Janette Force; and
sister, Jane Jowers of Williston, S.C.
A memorial service will be conducted 7 p.m.
Friday, June 30, at Peninsula Funeral Home by the
Rev. Jerry Helms. Family will receive friends
following the service.
