More detail on this person: Gen. George Blanchard. (Four Star) 86 Years old died 3 May 06, Mt Vernon Hospital.

He served in Vietnam, first as assistant division commander, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile), and then as the chief of staff, I Field Forces . From 1970-1972, he commanded the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft Bragg. He was an Aviator with the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. I do not know what flight class if any. As Instructor at Rucker I remember senior officers going through flight school with private instruction.
