More detail on this person: Howard Ronald "Ronnie" Crotty, 77, passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, in Dallas. Funeral: Noon, Thursday at Winscott Road Funeral Home, 1001 Winscott Road, Benbrook. Interment: 2:15 p.m. Thursday in DFW National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Winscott Road Funeral Home, Benbrook. Ronnie was born May 5, 1938, in Herndon, W.Va., to the late Howard Richard Crotty and Thelma L. Patterson Crotty. He was a retired U.S. Army helicopter pilot, serving two tours in Vietnam, and an active member of the Military Order of the Purple Cross and Benbrook VFW. Ronnie was a graduate of UNT. Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary Crotty. Survivors: Daughters, Rhonda Crotty and husband, Michael, of Arlington and Karen Crotty of Dallas; grandchildren, Richard Edgemon, Dallas Crotty and Gaelin Crotty; and siblings, Shirley Stinette and Kenneth Crotty.

The Crotty family has requested the North Texas Patriot Guard Riders to stand the flag line at DFW National Cemetery.
