More detail on this person: Col. Charles H. (Skip) Champion, Jr., 67, of Marietta, GA passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 8th at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in Kennesaw with Father Jose Kochuparampil officiating. Service will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by inurnment at 2:30 p.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with military honors. A native of Tate, GA and a Vietnam veteran, Col. Champion retired from the US Army in 1996 after 30 years of service to our country. Surviving Col. Champion are his wife Patricia; sons, Chad of Miami, FL; Chris of Duluth, and Jon of East Lake; daughters, Danielle and husband Kevin Newman of Acworth, and Ali Champion of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Connor Champion, and Sarah, Jenna, and Sam Newman; mother, Patricia E. Champion of Alpharetta; sister, Lisa Pritchett of Smyrna; brothers, Rick of Savannah, and David of Findley, OH. Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fisher House Foundation or the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.
