More detail on this person: Carl E. Carrier Wednesday, May 24, 2006 CW4 (Ret.) Carl Eugene Carrier, son of the late John and Bessie Smith Carrier, was born at Bell City on May 13, 1932, and died at his home near Bloomfield on Saturday, May 20, 2006, at the age of 74. Mr. Carrier spent 23 years serving in the U.S. Army. He spent two tours in Vietnam where he received the Vietnam Service Metal with one Silver and two Bronze Service Stars; Good Conduct Metal; National Defense Service Metal with one Oak Leaf Cluster; Air Metal with Numerals 13; Army Commendation Metal with one Oak Leaf Cluster and "V" Device. On April 11, 1997, he was married to Pat Hubbard. Survivors include his wife Pat of the home in Bloomfield; two sons, David Carrier of O'Fallon and Adrian Carrier of Marietta, Ga.; three step-sons, Denny Hubbard of Dexter, Doug Hubbard of West Plains, and David Hubbard of Lumberton, Texas; one step-daughter, Gwen Hubbard of West Plains; four brothers, Elza Carrier of Campbell, Ohio, Charles Carrier of Dexter, Paul Carrier of Kentwood, Mich., and John Carrier of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Norma Lane of Flint, Mich., and Ruth Ham of St. Charles; two grandsons; and one granddaughter; and 11 step-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; and his brother, Jim. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2006, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2006, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Gary Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Bell City.
