Cunningham, U.S. Army Retired, 78, will be today, December 15, 2012, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville with Dr. Derek Staples officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service. LTC Cunningham died December 13, 2012, at UAB in Birmingham. He is survived by his mother, Gladys Rice Cunningham, of Jacksonville; a daughter, Jeannie Cunningham Smith and her husband, Glenn, of Heflin; a son, Donald Alan Cunningham, of Alexandria; a granddaughter, Jessica Jane Smith Joiner; a great-granddaughter, Peyton Elizabeth Joiner; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his wife, Suzanne Jones Hobbs Cunningham, of Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his wives, Jane R. Cunningham and Annette P. Cunningham; and his father, Woodrow Cunningham. LTC Cunningham was a native of Scottsboro and a graduate of Auburn University. He served his country in the U.S. Army for 23 years and was a resident of Jacksonville since 1977. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Brotherhood Sunday School Class.
