Coffin Union-News (Springfield, MA) - Wednesday, February 19, 1997 David Richard Coffin, 51, died on Jan. 26 after being injured in a single-car accident in Salt Springs. He was a roofing contractor. Born in Westfield, he was a 1963 graduate of Westfield High School, and was among the top 25 graduates at the Army Officer Candidate School in Knoxville, Ky. With the rank of captain, he was a helicopter pilot in South Vietnam. He leaves his former wife, Sandra (Mundy) Coffin of Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, David ("Rich") Jr. of Roy, Utah, and Joseph of Munford, Ala.; a daughter, Kasidi Coffin of Haines City, Fla.; a sister, Linda L. Coffin of Westfield, Mass., and two grandchildren. A military funeral was conducted on Jan. 31 in the Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell. Kurfiss Funeral Homes was in charge.
