More detail on this person: Harry L. Childress CHESAPEAKE - Harry L. Childress, 63, of Plantation Lakes Circle, passed away Jan. 28, 2007, in his home. A native of Radford, Va., he was the owner and president of J.D. Childress Mfg. Co. Inc. He was a U.S. Army pilot during Vietnam earning 42 Air Medals, Bronze Star, Distinguished Flying Cross and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. He was also a lifetime member of VFW Post 4809. Harry is survived by his wife, Dianne G. Childress; four children, Harry Lee Lowe of Greenville, Tenn., Jan Skoyen and husband Stuart of Huntsville, Ala., Tracy Childress and husband Todd of Cambridge Ontario, Canada, and Christopher P. Childress and wife Rebecca of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Donovan, Eddie, Jackie, Haley and Christopher; brother, Paul V. Childress Jr. of Roanoke; two sisters, Nancy Marshall of Danville, Ky., and Joyce Clements of Christiansburg, Va.; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, today from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A celebration of Mr. Childress' life will take place after the burial at VFW Post 4809, 5728 Bartee St., Norfolk, VA 23502. Memorial donations may be made to the VA Hospital, c/o VFW Post 4809. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
