More detail on this person: Bobby Ray Campbell Bobby Ray "Alaska Bob" Campbell died July 17, 1999, of a heart attack at age 61. A private service was held in Chattanooga, Tenn. Mr. Campbell was born Dec. 23, 1937, in Chattanooga. He was a helicopter pilot for 26 years in the U.S. Army, including during the Vietnam War. After his retirement from the Army in the late 1970s, he worked for Maritime Helicopter Co., Alaska Helicopter and then Evergreen Helicopter, all in Alaska, until about 1989, when he moved to Newberg. Survivors include his son, Tony of Chickamauga, Ga.; daughters, Tammy Tacy of Chickamauga and Andrea Campbell of Thibodaux, La.; sister, Linda Bowen of Chattanooga; brother, Ronnie Harrison of West Palm Beach, Fla.; stepfather, Wilford Harrison of West Palm Beach; and eight grandchildren. Interment is in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements are by American Burial & Cremation of Oregon.
