More detail on this person: Steven Joseph CRANNEY CA United States CRANNEY, Steven Joseph Sept. 4, 1948 - July 11, 2012 In Sacramento, after a long struggle with cancer. Steve was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, retired from the Navy in 1991, and then lived in the Bay Area and Sacramento, where he worked as a software developer and systems administrator. Steve loved music, astronomy, computers, the outdoors, and most of all, his family. He is survived by his wife Deborah Nagano; daughters, Stephanie Zierler (Juergen) and Taylor Cranney; grandson Christian Zierler; stepsons, Aaron and Max Nagano; siblings, Lee (Susie), Padge, and John Cranney and Carrie Moyer; and six nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Doc and Bette Cranney of Wyoming, and his brother Max. Family and friends are invited to the funeral service to be held on Sunday, July 15, at 11am at W.F. Gormley & Sons, 2015 Capitol Ave., Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, donations to the UCSF Melanoma Center in his memory would be appreciated.
