More detail on this person: I served in Iran with CW3 Leo Cayton in 1978-79 with the USARMISH MAAG as an aviation advisor to the Imperial Iranian Army Aviation under Shah Reza Pahlavi. Leo and Cpt (later MG ret) Charlie Fletcher kept us in touch with the outside world by keeping the SSB radio running at the consulate in Esfahan after the embassy fell on 14 Feb 79. They were probably the last two military members to leave Esfahan after Khomeini returned to Iran. In Feb 1979 on George Washington's Birthday, we evacuated Iran to Germany then to CONUS . Next time I saw Leo was in 1983. He was a TC Captain,Commander, HHC AVSCOM in St Louis, MO. I heard later that he had been diagnosed with MS and was medically retired.
