DASCH, SR., Colonel, US Army, Retired, of Charlestown Retirement Community, Catonsville, MD; beloved husband of Alice M. Dasch (nee Brown); father of William E. Dasch, Jr. and Deborah A. Dasch. Also surviving are three grandchildren, William, Cassandra and Nicholas. Born and raised in Baltimore, Colonel Dasch graduated from Baltimore City College in 1946, received his BS degree from the University of Maryland in 1950 and later earned his MBA degree from Northwestern University. He entered the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant from R.O.T.C. in 1950 and served as a tank platoon leader in the Korean War. He earned his aviator wings and entered the Army's aviation program in 1955. Years later, he served another combat tour in Vietnam commanding an aviation battalion. He graduated from the US Army War College in 1972. Among his numerous military awards are: Legion of Merit (3 awards), Distinguished Service Cross, Bronze Star and the Air Medal. A Christian Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, February 22, 11 A.M., with visitation beginning 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel, Charlestown Retirement Community, Catonsville. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, at a time and date to be announced. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, all remembrances be made to the Charlestown Community Benevolent Care Fund, or the charity of your choice.
