More detail on this person: James C. Deichman James C. Deichman, 64, of Wyomissing and Pottstown, husband of Deborah C. Clemmer Deichman, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Reading Hospital. Born: In Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Miriam Fritchman Smith and the late John W. Deichman. Personal: He was raised in Nazareth, and was 1964 graduate of Nazareth High School, and also a graduate of Shippensburg University. James was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War who served as a helicopter pilot. He was a Branch Manager for many years of the Raymond James Financial Services Corporation. He was a very selfless person who always went out of his way to privately assist others in need of a helping hand. Jim was very devoted to his family and loved spending time with them. Memberships: He was a member of New Hanover United Methodist Church of Gilbertsville who served the church on many various committees through the years. James was also a member of the Berks Dinner Club, and the Rotary Club of Birdsboro. Survivors: In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his sons, John A. Deichman, of Blandon and James C. Deichman, of Pottstown; his daughter, Maggie L. Deichman, of Arlington, VA; his siblings, Jack E. Deichman, of Limerick, Jan P. Velekei, of Wyomissing, and Kenneth H. Smith, Jr., of Philadelphia. Services: Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at New Hanover United Methodist Church, 2211 Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville, PA, 19525, with Pastor David M. Lewis officiating, and to his visitation on Sunday from 3:30-4:45 p.m. at the church. Burial with Military Honors will be held privately by his family at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Memorials: Memorial contributions in his name can be made to either the American Cancer Society, 1830 E. High Street, Pottstown, PA, 19464, or to the Pastor's Discretionary Fund of New Hanover United Methodist Church, at the above address.
