More detail on this person: Upon my father's death, July 19, 1973, he received his retired rank of Lt Col. He died of Leukemia. He was awarded numerous medals, including 2 bronze stars, one with valor, 2 Distinguished Flying Crosses, and he had more than half a dozen Air Medals. Served 5 tours, 3 wars. WWII, Korea (2) and Vietnam (2). Was Navy trained pilot in 42 and served until 1956 with the Marines and then from 1957-73 with US Army. Was active duty at the time of his death.

He served in Vietnam for two tours of duty. First time, 1965-66, with 1st Cav from Ft Benning he was with the 11th Aviation Support. Served in the Ia Drang Valley battle, confirmed by Gen Hal Moore giving my son a scholarship.

2nd tour was as Flight Commander HQ Company 1st Avn Brigade Saigon.
