More detail on this person: Heart attack.Services will be at Halley Olsen 44802 North Date Lancaster. I never thought of the one in Palmdale as it is kinda new. Services will be 2pm. The commander of the VFW post 3000 is trying to get an honor guard but didn't hold out much hope as the same guard serves several posts. I'm disappointed in that as that is always so solemn and dignified.

Afterwards the reception or wake as Stoney always said no sadness just pitch me a party, will be at the VFW post 3000 of which he was a life member address 4342 West Ave L Quartz Hill.

The Riverside military service is yet to be determined as they informed us that they do not perform any services on the weekends, only Monday through Friday. Amber and I should know more soon and will inform you.

Tell Roy thanks so much for the letters from the guys he sent sounds wonderful that two of them plan to attend. Will they be wearing their uniforms and would it be appropriate for them to do the honor guard presentation? Just a thought it would mean so much. We could get the flags from the post.

For the Riverside ceremony we will have the 21 gun salute and taps.

While I was out flying, Sheri got a call from Amber, Stoney's daughter, a few hours ago. He died of a heart attack Thurs night at the Riverside Hotel in Vegas. He had been with his sister and brother-in-law on their way to KS and died in his sleep. Funeral service tentatively will be Friday, 31 May at Halley Olsen Funeral home in Lancaster (address and time to follow). Amber is handling all the details with her mom's guidance. Amber said Stoney wanted to be buried in Riverside at the military cemetery there. Will advise. Some of the details are as follows: Autopsy confirmed a heart attack. He was found by the hotel staff in his room Friday morning. He had returned from Amber's college graduation from San Diego the weekend before and they were planning to leave for Australia in mid-June as her graduation gift from him. Amber is just trying to get through the logistics at the moment. Sheri said she sounded pretty together under the circumstances. Amber will call us with the memorial time as soon as she knows more. We will forward to you. She's a pretty tough young girl and has never handled anything like this. Stoney will be creamated in Las Vegas, but not until Tues, due to the holiday and that's why the slight delay in the service.

Our love and prayers to all his family and please forward this info to anyone not showing on the above address list that needs to know. Thanks and we'll be in touch!
