More detail on this person: Vaden B Francisco Sr, 59 VENETA - A memorial service will be held Feb. 16 for Vaden Burdette Francisco of Veneta, who died Feb. 10 in a motorcycle accident. He was 59. He was born May 20, 1946, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Walter and Ruby Clatt Francisco. He married Margo Breckenridge on Aug. 15, 1968, in Tacoma. Francisco held a bachelor's degree in professional aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a master's degree in procurement and acquisitions management. Francisco retired as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army after 36 years of service. He was a decorated combat pilot in Vietnam, serving two tours. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was also a veteran of the first Persian Gulf War. He was a commercially-rated helicopter pilot and was president of Heli-Trade Corporation in Eugene. Francisco enjoyed commercial flying and riding his Harley. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kimberly Clark Francisco of Mill Creek, Wash.; a son, Vaden Jr. of Eugene; his mother, of Olympia, Wash.; a sister, Teresa White of Tacoma; and three grandchildren. Thursday's service will be held at 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Eugene. A reception with military honors will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Heli-Trade Corp. in Eugene. Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Lane Community College Foundation in his name.
