More detail on this person: James Hollis Fuquay CA United States Beloved and devoted husband, father, grandpa and friend. Born June 12th 1946 in San Francisco, CA. Died on October 7th 2011. Jim passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his entire family. Jim will forever be remembered by his beloved wife of 43 years, Carol Keller Fuquay; devoted daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Jason Rutherford and Theresa and JP Cabalette; treasured grandchildren Ethan and Ella and another anticipated in May; extended family members Susan Rice and La Toya Mailangi; the Brothers of the Vietnam Vets / Legacy Vets MC, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him. Jim loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle especially on long trips through the country, collecting antique guns, coins and cars, studying history, visiting with friends, but most of all spending time with his wife, children and grand-children. He was the only child of the late Hollis and Ruby Fuquay. Jim was raised in Houston, TX. He attended the University of Houston in Texas. After graduating, he joined the army and served his country faithfully in Vietnam. He then left the army, moved to California, went on to receive his MBA from Santa Clara University and began a career at Viking Freight Systems that lasted 20 years. Jim touched the lives of many people with his generosity and kindness. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, October 14th, at 2pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 301 Montrose Dr, Folsom, CA, 95630. A viewing will also be held on Thursday, October 13th, from 4 - 8pm at Miller Funeral Home, 507 Scott St, Folsom, CA 95630. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Snowline Hospice ( snowlinehospice.org), 6520 Pleasant Valley Rd, Diamond Springs, CA 95619, the wonderful people who gave such excellent care to Jim in his time of need.
