More detail on this person: Michael Foster Michael Warren Foster, 57, of Phoenix and Kaua'i, died at home in Phoenix on Feb. 16, 2002, surrounded by family and friends after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born on Aug. 3, 1944, in Boston, Mass., he was the son of Wayne Edward and Phyllis Geneva (Smith) Foster. He attended Boston public schools and received his bachelor's degree from Suffolk University. He joined the Army after college, and served in Viet Nam as a helicopter pilot. He received his law degree from Suffolk University, practiced law in New York and for many years in Arizona, and had recently commenced a new career on Kaua'i, specializing in land use and planning. He is survived by his wife: Claire; son: Drew; mother: Phyllis of San Jose, Calif.; brother: Ralph of Leominister, Mass.; sister: Linda Lach; brother-in-law Peter Tegan and nephew Michael Lach of Kaua'i; sister: Beverly Seinberg of Burington, New Jersey, and numerous other relatives and friends. Services are being held in Phoenix, with a celebration of his life to be held in Hawai'i at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Michael W. Foster Memorial Fund, c/o Law Office of Linda Lach, 4473 Pahe'e St., Lihue, HI.
