More detail on this person: VINCENT FRANANO SR. Vincent Franano Sr., 95, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence, MO. The Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Thursday, June 27 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW Highway 9, Kansas City, MO 64152, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Inurnment at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to St. Therese's Church. Vince was born November 1, 1917 to Frank and Theresa (Troup) Franano in Kansas City, MO. On August 17, 1943 he married Irene F. Kobzdey and to that union was born a son and daughter. Vince was a veteran of the US Navy, Marine Corps and the Army. He was a Navy Seaman 2nd Class, 1st Marine Division Assoc., and served 10 years active duty in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was also employed as a Maintenance Data Specialist at TWA for over 36 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Surviving him are his beloved wife, Irene; son & daughter-in-law: Vince & Vickie Franano Jr., Ramona, CA; daughter & son-in-law: Barbara & Bob Spateholts, Prineville, OR; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
