More detail on this person: Thomas W. Gowan MN United States Thomas W. Gowan, 68 of Smyrna, Tenn., passed away Tuesday Jan. 8, 2008 at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center. A native of Duluth, he was a self employed contractor and a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School and attended the University of Minnesota at Duluth and received his degree from the University of Maryland. Mr. Gowan was preceded in death by his wife, Bonita Rose Pugh Gowan; parents, John and Sadie Takala Gowan; brother, John Gowan. He is survived by eight children; brother, Patrick Gowan of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Burroughs of Spokane, Wash., Sara Bertie of Shelton, Conn.; 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. MEMORIAL SERVICE:3:30 p.m. Jan. 26, 2008 in Tennessee
