More detail on this person: William Cecil Girard FL United States GIRARD William Cecil Girard, Col. USAF, Ret., 87, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010 after a brief illness. Mr. Girard was born in Jacksonville on October 11, 1922 to Adelard and Grace Stage Girard. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Ohio State University where he earned his Masters degree and the University of North Dakota. He was a retired U. S. Air Force Colonel with 31 years of service flying Bombers during W.W.II and Helicopters in Korea and Viet Nam. He was a 32 Degree Mason and a Shriner. He was a long time Red Cross Volunteer, a volunteer at MOSH (Museum of Science & History) and enjoyed all Trains, large or the models, and while in North Dakota he greatly enjoyed Square Dancing. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was pre deceased by his loving wife of 62 years Mary B. Girard and his son William B. Girard Survivors include his daughters, Deborah Priester and Vickie Girard; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, longtime caregiver and friend Brenda, many loving friends, and his Boston terrier 'Dottie', who will all miss him dearly. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Arlington Park Cemetery with Rev. Al Hicks officiating. Full Air Force Honors will follow the service at the graveside. The family requests memorials in his name to The Shriners Hospitals for Children, 12502 USF Pine Dr. Tampa. FL 33612-9499. Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. assisting the family.
