More detail on this person: Lloyd G Gardner (Information extracted from wife's, Norma Gardner's, obituary) While on a blind double date, she met her future husband. Norma married Army Lt. Lloyd G. Gardner at Central Presbyterian Church, in Terre Haute, Ind., Sept. 6, 1951, and began her life as a military wife of 26 years, which took her to various cities across the U.S., including Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., Ft. Rucker, Ala., Puerto Rico, Vernonia, Ore., and Salem. At every post, as her family grew, she made a safe and loving home for her children. She took on all the duties and responsibilities for the family as her husband served his country doing tours of duty in Korea and Vietnam. Upon LTC Lloyd G. Gardner's retirement in 1969, the family remained in Salem, where they were members of the First Presbyterian Church.
