Billy is a 1960 graduate of Poca High School, 1964 graduate of WV State, Captain in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1973, serving as a helicopter pilot, and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a retired instructor at Enterprise/Ozark Community College Aviation Center in Mobile, Ala. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Hyre of Chesterfield, Va.; three children, Heather Hyre Cieutat of Mobile, Ala.; Billy G. Hyre of Mobile, Ala., and Kris L. Hyre of Enterprise, Ala.; three grandchildren, Rayanna M. Hyre of Mobile, Ala.; and Brittnie P. Hyre and M. Cian Cieutat, both of Mobile, Ala.; sisters, Sandra Hinrichs of Poca, W.Va., and JoAnne Bostic of Chesterfield, Va.; brothers, Paul Hyre of St. Albans and Philip Hyre of Chesterfield, Va. Service will be 11 a.m. Monday June 20, 2005, at Fairplain Cemetery with Military Honors by the Ripley VFW. Gatens-Harding Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Poca, is in charge of the arrangements.
