Major Noel H. Harvey was a classmate of mine in
ROTC at Morgan State College (which is now
Morgan State University). He was a member and a
standout on the first rifle team from Morgan State
to win the Cental Intercollegiate Athletic
Association Championship, on which we were
teammates. In ROTC he took flight training w/ Sam
Spriggs and retired Col. Mike Herndon (Noel was
the only one in our class who got a private
pilot's license at the end of this ROTC-funded
flight training program)(no shocker there - for an
Alaskan - like him, flying an airplane is often as
essential as owning a 4x4 in PA. His loving wife,
Florence is a retired veteran also. She had served
as a nurse. Noel served three tours in Vietnam.
No small feat.
