More detail on this person: Thomas C. Herrmann GREENCASTLE - Thomas C. Herrmann, 53, of 1470 Brenda Drive, died at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, in Waynesboro Hospital following an extended illness. Born Sept. 3, 1949, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of Sarah E. Miller Herrmann of Boonsboro, Md., and the late Franklin J. Herrmann. Mr. Herrmann attended Trinity Lutheran Church, Greencastle. In 1967, he graduated from North High School, Hagerstown. He was a production electrician at Frick Co., Waynesboro. During the Vietnam War, he was a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army. A member of Hancock (Md.) American Legion, he also coached Greencastle teams of girls softball and Little League and Pony League baseball. He played on various local softball teams. He and his wife, Karen D. Miller Herrmann, were married Feb. 9, 1973. In addition to his mother and his wife, surviving are a son, Benjamin T. of Greencastle a daughter, Angela N. Herrmann of Hagerstown a brother, Franklin J. Herrmann of Norfolk, Va. a sister, Hazel Morton of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. a grandmother, Mary Thurston of Boonsboro three nieces and a nephew. Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturdayin Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., with the Rev. William W. DeHass officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1186 Jason Drive, Greencastle 17225.
