More detail on this person: Roy Alvin "Al" Hudson A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Roy Alvin "Al" Hudson, LTC, USA (retired) passed away March 5, 2006 at 4:00 pm in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 74. He was born December 28, 1931 in Crowley, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Lafayette High School and the University of Omaha. He served twenty years as a pilot in the United States Army where he served a tour of duty in the Korean Conflict and two in Vietnam. In addition to numerous awards received, he earned the "Legion of Merit" while serving in Vietnam. Following military service, Roy served as director of the Department of Health & Human Resources for the State of Louisiana. After fourteen years of residence in Carrabelle, Florida he retired in San Antonio, Texas. "Al" is proceeded in death by his wife, Susan Glancey Hudson. He is survived by his mother, Edna Baker Hudson and his brother, Merle Hudson and wife, Sylvia. Also, he is survived by his children; Vicki DeVito and husband Steven; Connie Guidry and husband Mark; Kimm Miller and husband Jimmy; and Marc Hudson and wife Kathy. Survived also by fifteen grandchildren; Sasha Allison, Gregg DeVito, Renee Ardoin, Jackie DeVito, Rosalyn Ardoin, Rachel Whittle, Rebecca Guidry, Renee' Guidry, Alicia Kleinpeter, Jan Tibbs, Bryce Miller, Kalyn Miller, Blake Hudson, Ashley Skinner, and Brennan Hudson. Other survivors include seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Sincere appreciation goes out to the doctors and staff at Vitas Hospice, San Antonio, Texas for their kindness and loving care. A private crematory service will take place in Nevada at a later date.
