Reward offered for information Members of the Louisiana Independent Auto Dealers Association are offering a $3000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder of Darrell L. Harless, 43, of Gonzales. Harless was found shot to death on the grounds of his car lot at 2652 Scenic Highway about 8:30 a.m. Saturday, city police said. His body was discovered outside his office. He had been shot in the back and the side and his wallet rifled, police said. The unfortunate thing is that it took a murder to focus attention on the crime problem along Scenic Highway, according to Tom Greene, executive director of the association. "In the last week alone on Scenic Highway, our members and dealers have lost over $9000 in vehicles, tires, batteries," Greene said. "Since Harless died, at least two dealers on Scenic Highway have been burglarized."
