More detail on this person: 70, passed away peacefully June 27, 2017, in Land O' Lakes, FL, with his loving wife, Gwen, by his side. He was predeceased by his father, Harold and survived by his mother, Winifred. Wayne is predeceased by older brother, Ron and survived by younger brother, Bruce and sister, Lyn Redwood. He was married 50 years to his devoted wife, Gwen, whom he met during their days at Chamberlin High School. Wayne is predeceased by son, Brian and survived by son, Darrin (wife Leslie); daughter, Lori Humphries (husband Mark); and nine darling grandchildren, he so deeply loved. Wayne served his country as a member of the 1st Infantry Division of the United States Army. He completed two tours of duty during the Vietnam War where he achieved the rank of Captain and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal, three Bronze Star Medals with Valor, and the Air Medal with Valor 13. He had a long-tenured career as a pharmaceutical and hospital representative with Marion Labs, was a Charter Member of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation where he served as President of the Tampa Bay Chapter, and was a member of the Lions Club where he also served as President. Wayne was a good friend to many, and he loved to fish and hunt. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather Saturday, July 8, 9:30-10:30 am, with a memorial service beginning at 10:30 am, at Loyless Funeral Home, 5310 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Land O' Lakes, FL 34639 (813) 996-6610.
