More detail on this person: CancerIt is with great personal sadness that I report the death today of our friend and comrade LTC. (ret) Robert B. Harris in Ft. Meyer Florida of cancer. His children and former wife were by his side. He wishes no service and is being cremated for interment in Arlington. Bob was the commander of the Aero Rifle Platoon of D Troop 1/4 Cavalry from December through 1969. He was an airborne ranger and the finest light infantry commander I had the pleasure to serve with. He fought with valor at the battle of the Crater and numerous other skirmishes. He became an army aviator after the war and served with distinction till retirement several years ago. He was moved to a hospice yesterday and died peacefully this morning. God rest his soul. Another trooper has poured out his canteen in Fiddlers Green.

Hugh Mills, Darkhorse 16, 1969/1972
