More detail on this person: Hit wires on training flight summer 1970 in Ausbach, W. Germany. Short tour in Vietnam due to being wounded in a mortar attack. While flying an OH-58 for D/2/4 CAV in Germany, A/C struck a power line and crashed at the Hohenfels Army training center during a routine training mission. STEPHEN F. HULVERSON Funeral for CWO-2 Stephen F. Hulverson, 22, will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Young's Funeral Home, Tigard. CWO-2 Hulverson was killed April 10, near Ansbach, Germany, when his helicopter struck an overhead powerline and crashed during a training mission. He was born October 15, 1948, in Portland and was graduated from Tigard High School in 1966. He attended Oregon State University for two terms before enlisting in the Army in 1967. Following helicopter training at Ft. Wolters, Texas, CWO-2 Hulverson was sent to Vietnam where he was wounded in action. After recovering from his wounds at Madigan Hospital at Ft. Lewis, Wash., he was assigned to Germany where the fatal accident occurred. CWO-2 Hulverson is survived by his parents, Major (retired) and Mrs. Frederick A. Hulverson and a sister, Betty Joe Edwards, all of Portland. Vault interment with full military honors will be at Willamette National Cemetery. 09 APR 70 CW2 Stephen F. Hulverson [P] PFC Paul B.
