More detail on this person: Maj. Thomas Broadstreet Isaac (USMC, Ret.), 64, died at home on November 25, 2012. Born in El Paso, Texas, he was the only child of Jake and Helen Isaac. Tom graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1970, with degrees in math and chemistry. He later completed a masterâÇÖs degree in business management at the University of Arkansas. Tom served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 21 years, where he was a helicopter pilot and a Vietnam veteran. After retiring from the military, he taught math at Bartlett High School and coached girls soccer and softball. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Ann, and their children: Kendra Jeeves (Hayden), Lea Isaac (Fabian), Maj. Nathan Isaac, U.S. Army (Nancy), Maura Isaac (Michael), and Julianna Isaac. More than anything, Tom adored his seven grandchildren -- Anna, Ian, Dylan, Jackson, Lucia, Olivia, and Marina_and they were in awe of him.. Tom was a wise and mellow man, and a great listener. He always seemed to appreciate the joys of life, especially music, food, and nature. His vast knowledge and calming presence were reassuring to his soldiers and his students, and to his friends and his family, who all remember him fondly and will miss him dearly. A viewing will be held at Episcopal Church of the Annunciation, 8282 Macon Road, Cordova, TN, on Wednesday, November 28, at 6 p.m. A requiem eucharist will be celebrated on Thursday, November 29, at 11 a.m, at Episcopal Church of the Annunciation. Burial will be at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Friday. The family thanks Dr. Paul Hess and staff at the Memphis Heart Clinic; Dr. Kurt Tauer and staff at the West Clinic; and Dr. David Moinester and staff at Podiatry Centers of Memphis for their wonderful care and professionalism. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Episcopal Church of the Annunciation or to the Wings Foundation at the West Clinic.
