More detail on this person: JAMES N. JENKINS, 53, CORPORATE AVIATION CHIEF James N. Jenkins 3d, 53, of Holland, a 14-year Army veteran who became a corporate aviation director, died Monday of a heart attack after a workout at Mercer County Airport near Trenton. He had been scheduled for a cardiovascular stress test tomorrow. Mr. Jenkins, who had a rating of airline transport pilot for rotary and fixed-wing aircraft, was chief pilot for Johnson & Johnson Co. in New Brunswick, N.J., from 1986 to 1998, when he was named director of the company's aviation department. He was based at Mercer County Airport and often went there for physical workouts, family members said. Mr. Jenkins was born and attended high school in Fort Smith, Ark. He earned a bachelor's degree from Henderson State College in Arkansas. His Army service included tours in Germany and Vietnam, and during that time he earned a master's degree in business administration from Western New England College in Massachusetts. After his discharge as a captain in 1984, he moved to Holland. He was a member of the National Business Aircraft Association, the Professional Aircraft Maintenance Association, and the Eastern Region Helicopter Council. He was a member and frequent golf player at Spring Mill Country Club in Ivyland and enjoyed vacationing with his family on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Kathleen M. Arrigenna Kelly; daughters, Jennifer E. Jenkins and Jamie D. Jenkins; and a stepson, Jeffrey B. Brownell. A viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Joseph A. Fluehr 3d Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (Route 332), Richboro. Burial, with military honors, will be in the U.S. National Cemetery at Fort Smith, Ark., at a date to be determined. The family suggests contributions to the James N. Jenkins 3d Memorial Fund for Benefit of Local Charities, c/o Salomon Smith Barney, 12 Terry Dr., Newtown, Pa. 18940.
