Jarrell January 28, 1932 - February 28, 2005 CUTHBERT, GA - Phillip Van Jarrell, 73, U.S. Army Major (Ret), died Feb. 28 in Albany. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today from the First Baptist Church of Cuthbert with the Rev. Tom McClendon officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be in East View Cemetery, according to Lunsford Funeral Home, Cuthbert. Mr. Jarrell was born Jan. 28, 1932 in Charlotte, N.C., son of the late Curn and Alice Crotts Jarrell. He was retired as a Major from the U.S. Army, and was formerly with the Randolph County, Ga., Sheriff's Office and was retired as Police Chief of Cuthbert. Mr. Jarrell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cuthbert and the Washington Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Naomi Carter Jarrell of Cuthbert; two sons, Phillip W. Jarrell and his wife Sharon of Shanghi, China and David M. Jarrell and his wife Annelle of Cuthbert; two sisters, Alice Kendrick and Helen Allen, both of Greensboro, N.C.; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
