More detail on this person: James Keith Jurney, 83, of Statesville, NC died at his home Wednsday March 5, 2008 at his home. Born in Iredell County on Dec, 5 1924, he was a son of the late Edgar and Bertha Madison Jurney. Mr. Jurney was retired from the U.S Army as a pilot and Chief Warrant Officer. Mr Jurney served his country in WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. During his military career he was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the AsiaticPacific Campaign Medal, the Phillippine Liberation Ribbon, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Master Army Aviator Badge, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Republis of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm and 21 air medals.
