Wilson III, 61, of 2399 Sail Fish Drive will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection of Surfside Beach, with burial at 3:30 p.m. in Old Saint David's Cemetery of Cheraw with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. Memorials may be made to the South Carolina Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Columbia. Lt. Col. Jarman died Wednesday, April 21, 1993. Born in Decatur, Ga., he was the son of the late Lewis W. Jarman and Lucy Clack Jarman. Formerly of Sumpter, he attended Presbyterian College and graduated from the University of South Carolina. He retired from the Marines in 1977, was a career pilot and served in Vietnam. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, 11 Air Medals, and the Vietnamese Service Medal. He was an officer and member of the board of directors of the Georgetown County Mental Health Association and the South Carolina Mental Health Association, a founding member of the Coastal Alliance for the Mentally Ill and a board member for the S.C. Alliance for the Mentally Ill. Surving are his wife, Gary Powe Jarman; sons, Lewis Jarman IV of Charleston and David Jarman of Monterey, Calif., half brothers, Lowell Jarman and Lloyd Jarman, both of San Diego; and his step-mother, Evelyn Jarman of San Diego.
