More detail on this person: Joel Kesner KESNER, Joel R., 60, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at his home. Mr. Kesner was a financial analyst and former resident of Tampa. He was a highly decorated U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. As a helicopter pilot with the First 7th Air Calvary, he won several Distinguished Flying Medals. Mr. Kesner was active in several Jewish organizations including the United Jewish Appeal and was a former member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek. He shared his love of snow skiing with his family. Survivors include his son, Philip Kesner; daughter, Jacquelyn Kesner; and the mother of his children, Kathy Kesner; all of St. Petersburg; brother, Alan Kesner; sister, Michele Willems; both of Coral Springs; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will take place at 2:30 p.m. today (Friday) at Congregation Schaarai Zedek, 3303 W. Swann Ave., Tampa. Rabbi Richard Birnholz will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, 3242 Parkside Center Circle, Tampa, FL 33619.
