More detail on this person: Charles S. Knupp Charles Sylvester Knupp, 62, of Hill Everhart Road, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at Lexington Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Salisbury National Cemetery by Pastor John Leviner. Mr. Knupp was born Nov. 6, 1940, in Johnson City, Tenn., to Benjamin Amos Knupp and Mildred Powers Knupp. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received the Order of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Triangle Volunteer Fire Department. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Conrad Knupp of Lexington; one stepson, Scott Creel of Columbus, Ga.; one stepdaughter, Sherry Snider of Lexington; three stepgrandchildren; his mother of Denton; and one sister, Darlene Cripps of Denton. Memorials may be made to the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 638, 1757 Huntington Woods Court, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103. Davidson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
