More detail on this person: Captain Marvin Or Maxie Levine Marvin LEVINE Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The (GA) - Sunday, June 27, 2004 Marvin Levine, US Army Capt Retired died on June 21, 2004 of a heart attack. Marvin was born on June 22, 1937 to Louis and Betty Levine in Brooklyn, New York. Marvin began his distinguished army career in 1955. He served his country faithfully for nearly 20 years until his discharge in 1974. Marvin entered the service as a Private and rose to the level of Captain. He served 2 tours in Vietnam and earned medals, awards and commendations including the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Distinguished Flying Cross. Marvin was one of the most highly decorated Vietnam Veterans. Marvin met and married Ilsa Cadwell in 1966. They had 2 sons, Adam and Eric. The Levine's divorced in 1979. After leaving the army, Marvin earned his MBA. He began a second career in contract management. His area of expertise was government procurement contracting. At the time of his death, Marvin was teaching contract management courses at the University of Phoenix. Over the past 12 years Marvin was semi-retired. In between project/contract management positions, Marvin would criss-cross the country visiting his family and friends. Everyone who knew Marvin would eagerly anticipate as visit from "Uncle Marvin/Grandpa/Maxie". Marvin enjoyed the company of many different people from various walks of life. Marvin kept in contact with hundreds of people by email and telephone. Marvin's interests ranged from fine art at the country's most celebrated museums to river rafting and skiing in the great outdoors. An avid supporter of scouting, Marvin was a Scoutmaster for many years while his sons were growing up. His son Eric achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Marvin was a treasure. He will be profoundly missed by all that knew him. Marvin is survived by his sons; Adam (Romi), Eric (Michelle), grandchildren; Rebecca, Julian, and Jacob. He is also survived by his niece, Amy Romer and dear friend, Trudy Klein. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters; Evelyn and Ruth and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Marvin was a doting grandfather and uncle to more than just his biological family. In memory of Marvin we ask that donations be made to the children's charity of your choice in lieu of flowers. Marvin's favorites included United Cerebral Palsy and Easter Seals. The funeral will be held at Fort Logan Cemetery in Denver, CO on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 0900 hrs with full military honor guard as befitting a warrior, patriot, and family man. Rest in peace dear Marvin. All of our love...always.
