More detail on this person: One of our great sailors passed away on (17 JAN 2011) while in the ICU at Escondido Palomar Hospital. Shirley had been hospitalized, then under nursing care, since he fell on 20 DEC at his home in Valley Center. I know he had a positive influence on my Naval career and that of many others. He was looked up to for his sage advice and wisdom by all in the command. Many of us were fortunate to have served with him in at North Island in HSL-33 and HC-11. Please pass along to anyone that may have known him. Will send Obituary Information when received.
