More detail on this person: Arthur R. Langlois Post-Star, The (Glens Falls, NY) - Thursday, January 18, 2007 SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. * LTC Arthur R. Langlois (Ret), a fixed wing and helicopter pilot of three foreign wars, passed away on Monday, Jan.15, 2007, in Satellite Beach, Fla., of cancer. He was 85. Born on Jan. 4, 1922, in Hudson Falls, Mr. Langlois served in World War II, the Korean War, and served three tours in the Vietnam War. Previous to military service he attended the University of Idaho. While in the Reserves after World War II, he attended Syracuse University. He started his military career in the Army Armored Tank Forces division before receiving his opportunity in the Army Air Corps. Arthur then went on to fly light aircraft before being asked to fly the, at the time, new rotary craft. He flew helicopters through the Korean and Vietnam Wars, serving as a test pilot and USO pilot. Some of his USO passengers included famous big screen actors such as Judy Garland. After retiring from the Armed Forces in 1969, Mr. Langlois went on to work with private aviation contractors all over the world. Some of these locations included Thailand, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, to name a few. Having lived the life of three men, Arthur R. Langlois will always be remembered for his loyalty to friends, family and country; a "real man" who was not afraid to cry or hold you when times were tough. He is survived by his wife, Jiravan; sons; Peter, Michael, and Tucker; daughters; Lynette and Robin; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Saturday Jan. 20, at the Cathedral of The Immaculate Conception, 20 Pine St., Burlington, Vt.
